PostIslamophobia or Islamistophobia? (John Heelan, -UK, 03/04/15 7:08 am)
Perhaps "Islamophobia" is misnamed and should be "Islamistophobia"? (See Anthony Candil, 4 March.)
WAISers might be interested in an article pointing out the difference--published in the Washington Times (May 13, 2013)--by Daniel Pipes. A welcome article that is somewhat surprising coming from the pen of a well-known, strong supporter of Israel and Zionism.
JE comments: This is an atypically nuanced analysis from Pipes. As for the Islamophobia-Islamistophobia distinction, the whole "point" of phobias is that they don't have to concern themselves with subtle distinctions.
