PostZoska, WAISworld's Assistant Editor (Robert McCabe, France, 04/13/13 4:24 pm)
At last the long-held secret of the editorial excellence of WAIS messages bursts into the open. The assistant editor is a cat! (See JE's comments to John Heelan, 13 April.)
Does this excellency have a name? [Zoska, previously known as Sandy before she came to the Eipper-Pobutsky home three years ago--JE]
Does she have distinguishing characteristics? [Overweight, way too hairy, and with an annoying propensity to hiss--JE]
What languages does she speak and what does she think about the Spanish Civil War? [Languages: none, other than a fluent "Hissese," together with a piercing meow at meal times. In the SCW she would have been an anarchist--JE]
Has she received a loving letter from Senator Boxer? [Aren't Boxers dogs? If so, Zoska is in the political opposition--JE]
A whole new chapter in WAIS annals is about to arrive!
JE comments: Our colleague in Savona, Eugenio Battaglia, wrote in response to my introduction this morning of our Assistant Editor: "Congratulations, John, for your Assistant. I have four cats inside the house plus a dozen outside, and a sort of hospital, originally supposed to be the 'tavernetta,' where three ill cats recovered from the streets presently live."
Cat lovers are legion in WAISworld. Alain de Benoist at last report has six, Istvan Simon two (or is it three?), and Randy Black just adopted the gorgeous young Lucy. (For the record, we have three cat companions, although Zoska is the only one who arises at 4:15 AM to work with me on WAIS.)
Why so much catophilia on the Forum? Is it the cat's fierce independence? Her refusal to conform? Her intelligence? I suspect Bob McCabe could offer answers.
On these and other profound questions, Zoska opines, "hiss; when's dinner?"
Zoska (pronounced Zosh-ka), WAIS Assistant Editor, 13 April 2013
