PostThe US Financial Contribution to NATO (John Heelan, UK, 07/13/18 3:25 pm)
Donald the Showman has an uneasy relationship with the concept of truth. The US contribution to NATO is 22%, not 90% as his wilder claims allege.
I am trying to discover how much NATO spends on the US military/industrial complex, thereby increasing US GDP and reducing US unemployment--two of the Trumpster's electoral promises. Then we have his apparent relationship with Putin, his new BFF (Best Friend Forever). Similarly I am trying to find out the Trumpster's formal golf handicap and who has provided it. It would be embarrassing for POTUS to be refused playing on the course(s) that he owns.
Further, one wonders what he will sell out in the forthcoming meeting with Putin: he has already tried to kill off NATO, maybe put greater pressure on Iran (but not Saudi Arabia) and he is certainly losing friends among us Brits. The payoff for him? Trump Tower (Red Square), Trump Tower (Hanoi), but Trump Tower (Tiananmen Square) looks less likely. China and the Baltic States should be looking over their shoulders!
JE comments: Just what is the US percentage of the NATO budget? This figure varies wildly. Stay tuned for Tim Ashby.
